SilverSTX,

Swapping out just the muffler may not be an easy mod, as the entire exhaust system from the cats back is a single piece (with the exception of a short connector pipe). At least is was in my 2004.

You may be better of just buying a complete system and replacing the factory system. You could then re-install the factory system if needed in the future rather than cutting up the factory pipes.

I have already done the muffler swap, I just got worried because I did not to void my warranty because anything that breaks on these trucks is expensive.

Well really they can only void warranty if you bring it in and there is something wrong with the exhaust or something they got to prove the aftermarket exhaust caused it to void warranty at least im sure thats how it goes

Yep. It just crazy what some dealers will blame things for sometimes. It all about the dealer and how they want to handle it. I had a Subaru one time and the Transmission went....Every tooth on 1st gear, syncro's, etc...gone. Well they tried to tell me that my dump valve (blowoff valve) on the engine caused it and werent going to replace it under warranty and it was $3500 for a repair or $6k for a new tranny. Needless to say it was a long hard 3 month fight to get a new one under warranty.. The dealer that I took it too that denied me was rude about everything so I had the car taken back to my dealer in Atlanta where I bought it from and they actually wanted to give me a new car and they would take it up with Subaru. End of my rant! It still makes me mad to this day..

The big name chain muffler shop I went to said "no worries" for the warranty.
Also the CAI system I installed, said on the box that it didnt void it.

A muffler is a considered a wear item like batteries or tires. Should have no affect on warranty.
