Wiring/AUX question

Okay, first real post here. I just picked up a 2005 f-350 Lariat crew cab long bed PSD on Friday and I'm still going through all the bells and whistles on the thing. What a truck! Anyway, I've got the set up with the 4 AUX switches and my AUX3 switch is hooked up to something and I can't figure out what it is. There's a yellow jumper coming off the switch going into the factory wiring harness and seems to be butted in with a purple wire with a white tracer.

Are there any wiring diagrams around or available that might be able to tell me what that wire might go to? I know probably a shot in the dark but I figured I'd check.

The purple w/white tracer probably comes out of the firewall near the brake booster, as do an additional 3 wires (four wires total). Are the other 3 upfitter switches wired under the dash?

There's nothing attached to the other three switches, just the AUX3 switch. It goes into a factory harness, like someone tapped into a wire and then it goes up into the firewall towards the center.

Purple and white, Isn't that for the high idle? Try putting the emergency brake on a hit the wired aux switch. If it is the high idle mod your rpms will increase. Then you can hit brake pedal to turn off. See if this works. If I'm wrong one of the other guys will let you know.
I'm wrong! The high idle is purple/lt.green. Forget what I wrote above.

Thumbs up Lots of good info in there!

Hi

Go to the 6.0 diesel forum and look it up in the teck folder. All of your questions will be answered. I used the info in there and there are photos as well.

There are two ways to do the high idle mod in the 05-07 trucks (probably the 08 also, but I'm not sure). One is to use the PTO wire which is light blue with a yellow stripe. The other is the Battery Charge Protect (BCP) which is a purple wire with a light green stripe. Goathead is it possible the stripe is light green and not white? I would try putting the parking brake on and hitting the switch like wiingnut said.
