Hello all.
Just bought a new to me 2006 F-350 Super Duty. I was curious what some of you have wired up to your aux switches? I'd like to get a camera at some point to help on those days when I'm hooking up the camper alone. Has anyone installed one of these?
I have a back-up camera wired to an upfitter. Rather than use a reverse light wire to kick the monitor on I use the switch to control it whenever I want.
Thanks for the reply
I do like the idea of using the switch as I really don't need it everytime I'm backing up. Only for when I'm hooking up the camper. About how much would something like this go for and where did you mount the monitor?
I am getting one on my truck. Already have one for the trailer. I am going to use the reverse switch to kick on the back up camera and a dash mounted switch to kick it over to the trailer cam.
Mine is a 7" diplay that sits over the rear view mirror. I really only use it for plowing so I take it down when not in use. I pulled the head liner and ran the wire up the pillar and across. I have a camera on the front also so I can mount the plow easier.
I picked up this camera http://www.amazon.com/PLCM22IR-Flush...7888425&sr=8-1 from Amazon for $25. I have it mounted in the license plate. I'm hooking it up to an indash dvd player with touchscreen this weekend. It will be controlled by switch or reverse trigger.
