Carburetor Identification?

I have a 1986 Full size Bronco, 5.8L winsor engine.

On the carburetor are the following numbers. (4BBL with electric choke.

List 502264-1 and just below this number is 1606

Above the list number is LEGIE 9510 ZB
It may be LE5TE but not sure..?? difficult to read

What type of carburetor do I have, and could someone direct me to a rebuild kit by the manufacture, I think it may be a holly unit build for motocraft.

Thanks in advance for suggestions pointers.

Bob

You're right, the Holley 4180 carb was stock for the 4V 351W (4 bbl carb) with electric choke. I had alot of problems with the original on my 84 leaking gas. I would only use the Holley rebuild kit, as other cheaper imitations had horrible fitting gaskets. An overhaul didn't really help much, as my original carb was just plain worn out and still leaked gas. I bought a reman unit from O-Reilly's for about $350, Ford wants about $800. Still had problems with the reman, most due to the power lead for the electric choke, It runs off the back of the alternator, all the way around to a relay, then all the way around back to the carb. I replaced the junky blade connector onthe alt with a bolt-on and solved that. Still, the carb was prone to "stalling fits" once in awhile, like the float would stick. Be sure to chekc for any vacuum leaks, too. JSM84

Question

JSM84:

Thanks for the feedback, I have had the Bronco since it was new. Current problem is when it not used for a day or so, it is hard to start, appears starved for gas. I have to pump, pump a number of times to get it going. I have checked the choke, it appears to pull off correctly and is closing when cold. I cannot see any leaks
anywhere around the carb. After the initial start, it will continue to start without any problems at all. About three years ago I replaced the squirt diaphram, and 12 years ago the floats. Other than that It has been good to me.. Albiet it run slightly rich, and always did. If I do the rebuild, I will use the Holley OEM kit from the recommendation.

Any other comments suggestions welcome

Thanks Bob

Most likely a holley 4 barrel, most likely E5TE-9510-zb, Jegs or Summit racing makes rebuild kits. Also Napa will probably have one (don't order off amazon). Holley is not the brand but the carb was named after the person who designed it. There is no name brand because GM doesn't produce them from the factory anymore. Cheaper option head down to parts store ask, a little more pricey but comprehensive summit racing or JEGS.

I assume he got it sorted out. Thread was from Aug 2007.

It is easy to miss the date of the post.
