I need to get an oil change and right now I don't have time to do it myself so I was thinking of taking it to wal-mart to get it done. Has anyone had there's done there and if so how much do they charge with using synthetic oil. Also can you use rotella 5w40 synthetic year round, I live in Arizona so it is very hot down here. but I'm moving soon back to Ohio so would it work in both climates.
I would strongly recomend aganst letting anyone at WalMart or any quickie change lube place do an oil change period!
But, If you are in a spot and cannot do it yourself then go back there and watch them like a hawk-these young, inexperianced folks seem to have problems tightening the drain plug enough, and over-tightening the filter!
I think the Shell Rotella T full synthetic is OK year round, I live in Florida, and thats what I'm putting in @ my first oil change. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

I agree...I have watched those guys on other peoples cars and trucks and seen to many times them forget this or that ...plus do you honestly think that if one of them accidentally overtighted or stripped your plug that they would say a word...No way!!...scary
I use em pretty regularly. I use dino oil and it is at least $60.00 cheaper than the stealers around here. I do admit that they aren't as clean as some of the stealers but even when they do it I always get oil drips for a few days. Just too lazy to do it myself nowdays, finally in a position that if something breaks I have the choice to do it myself or pay someone to do it. $19.99 for a oil change on my other vehicles and $49.99 for my PSD? It ain't worth my time and effort anymore. These places have been sued enough and bought enough engines for their mistakes over the last twenty years that they tend to do a pretty good job. Your mileage may vary but the one I use does a good job. Squirrelcop
Yep -- 5W-40 syn is good all year. It's actually better in the winter when 15W-40 is thicker and has a harder time getting up into the engine at startup.
