Went in last night to have the damage appraised on the truck and they said $6300.00. It sure was a busy place for saturday at 7:00pm I was surprised, must have been 7 or 8 other vehicles plus another camper. Our camper also had $2200.00 damage to the roof.
I just read my post and I noticed I have dyslexia, the damage was $3600.00. Anyways I talked to the wife's cousin and he recommended a good shop to take it too. I will be the middle of september before I can get it in, so hopefully it will look like new when it is done.
The hail was about the size of cherries and very heavy, made the ground white in about 30 seconds.
I've been thru a few of those kinds of hail storms when I lived in Medicine Hat. I'm taking the wife's car in tommorrow to MPI and see if they are going to write it off. It's a 98 Stratus and the back half of the car was hit. No glass was broken so that my save my bacon. It's truely amazing what baseball size hail can do to a vehicle.
on the bright side, its only a chrysler product, and maybe it'll make room for a new taurus or something... but that sucks man, i hate hail!!
The wife and I were talking about getting a new vehicle. ( I was pushing for a 94-95 Mustang GT ) But the car is paid off and she bought it brand new so why not keep it. I definitley don't want a car payment if I don't need one. If we will have to put up with the dimples, more like hammer marks on the car than so be it. Its only a Dodge right?
