I just thought it would be cool if someone made a 50's Lincoln pickup. You'd really make people take a second glance. It would require custom emblems, Lincoln engine and transmission but you could have a L-100. It's sounds a little International-ly but would be neat if it was done up in period correct specs.
neat idea, but i'd be thinking a late '70's powertrain, something like a 460/auto from a lincoln mark series... somehow incorporate the flip up headlights into it, but then i guess it wouldn't be looking 50's anymore...
didnt lincoln have a straight flathead 8? or was it a flatty 10? that is a pretty damn cool idea. do it super elegant and high class. super fancy interior, those huge hubcaps, just really super fancy. that would be nice.
lincoln v12 flatty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 thats all i gots to say about that. lol. (ya i know its a crap motor, but still has no valve covers)

thats what i was thinking about, that would look sweet in a truck.
hey chris, or anyone else who knows. why is there no valve covers?? are the heads/valvetrain sealed into one piece??
The valves on a Flathead are in the block and puch up where as a 302 valves are in the head. Valve covers cover rocker arm assemblies and **** like that. A flathead has none of that so no need to cover it with a cover. A head for a Fl;athead is not a intrict piece compared to most heads, basically a piece of cast that holds spark plugs.
And yes I agree with a flathead V12 would be quite apprioate
You've got yourself quite the idea there.Let us know how it works out! How many and when were the v12's made??? I remember hearing about them, but that's all I know about them. Was it Lincoln or Caddy (sorry) that made the v16???
