I thought this thing would give some sore of warning when it went out......WRONG. I was driving down the four lane and it felt like I was getting a flat and the whole front end was shaking. I pulled over and all four tires were aired up, then I relizid it was going to get expensive. I drove about 1/2 a mile to a parking lot where I could safely load it onto my gooseneck. The vibration seems to be coming from the tranny tunnel and it only does it when the clutch is released. I dried just letting it coast(with the engine running) and it did it then to. Where is the cheapest place to get a LUK clutch? On the good side, I hit 30 pounds of boost towing it with a 6.0
61, Check out Val Air clutches. www.valairinc dot com. I run one of their clutches and love it. Their prices are comperable to LUK, but way better holding power. Give them a call and talk to Dan Vallance. He owns the place. Tell him Cody from Death Row Diesel sent ya. I promise he'll treat you right. I've never dealt with another company that has customer service like he provides. Don't get me wrong, LUK clutches are great, I ran one. But if you ever start running big injectors, it won't hold. But on the flip side, Dan also has mild clutches too. Anyway, that's just my .02
My DMF went out and what happened is the ball bearings in it were disentigrating. About 1/2 were gone. They all pile up on one side and throw it off balance. It was still drivable. I would shut it off and then recrank and it would be fine for 100 or so miles. So time to fix.
Duck are you saying the valair are better than the LUK's as far as holding with say stage II's? I know LUK has 2 different setups did you use the better one? Also will the val air clutch/PP fit on a LUK FW. I plan to get a SMF LUK for backup and have the clutch/PP waiting. Your suggestions appreciated.
Oh yeah 61 UNI I am sorry about the luck. If I remember you are near me. I have done this procedure once before and if I can be of assistance let me know.

Thanks, I don't have time to fool with it. I'll pay to have it put in.
Neal, that's exactly what I'm saying. He has clutches that will hold anything we throw at it. Yes, the LUK flywheel will work with the Val Air clutches. That's what I have. If you need one too, tell him I sent ya.

Thanx duck I will do that when I blow out the DMF again. The first one went close to 100,000 miles but when I get Stage II's I'm not sure.
6.0's shouldnt go over 25 psi stock, anything more will store overboost codes, unless you have an 05 or newer then they can get up to 28 safely, any more is bad for your head gaskets and should throw a code but not a lite. if she;s stock and hitting 30 and you had the o5e15 performed then you have a sticking turbo

It is an 05 with 20k miles and 2 or 3 reprogramings completly stock. And it was screeming.
odds are then you have a vgt issue, as long as you dont go over 30 then its kind of up to you what you want to do with it. if they put a turbo on it then you will actually see a drop in power.......had one of the girls that worked at the dealer with a 450 she towed her horses with it, always had oil leaks, long story short i check mgp pid (boost) and she was hittin a little over 30. replaced the turbo and it dropped back to 25, oil leaks stoped arising and then she always complained that is was low on power.....you can never please them
