im new to the site and i wanted to ask yall how the best way to run a new exhaust on my 81 f-100 with the big block 6 i was thinking on getting a set of efi manifolds and running 2 pipes in to a dual in single out 40 series flowmaster and having it come out were it already exits the side of the vehicle but i wanted to hear wut yall have to say any info would be greatly apreciated thanx
Well, you probably need to search on this one. There have been many threads on exhaust and the variations are in-exhaustable.
I don't know jack about exhaust on these trucks. I just modded my stock exhaust for better sound (see my gallery) and am waiting for the muffler to rot off ( but in 12 years the orignial is still good ) so's I can put a nice free flowing muffler on and a short pipe turning out in front of the wheel.
I have a gutted second cat with a glasspack exiting in front of the passenger wheel. It sounds good. I'm going to experiment with a 1.5" pipe straight and see if it sounds any different.
