I have a 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty 2 WD with 60,000. I bought the truck two years ago with 21,000 miles. The truck as always been noisy. I just thought that is the way it was being this was my first diesel truck. I took the truck in for a oil change and even the guy changing the oil commented how loud it was. Now he is no mechanic but made me start thinking I should have this thing checked. Any Ideas? Should I take it to a diesel mechanic or a transmission shop? I know we don't have any where I live maybe someone can recommend a shop in Longview, WA, Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR?
Alot of times sitting around the campground Ill play "name that diesel" when folks are driving in or out. I have heard alot of 7.3's that are much quieter than mine, but I have also heard some come through that are way louder.
My t.c. rattles, and one day when it finally lets go I will have a shiny pan tranny, and realize how queit it should be, but until then.....
Oh yeah isn't Kwikk up that way? If I lived any where near there and had probs. his shop is the only place (well O.K. maybe FN74's too). Not really familiar with WA., and OR. so I dont know if this right around the corner, or a day to get there.
