My gauges were installed by the previous owner. They were the only mods done to the truck when I bought it. I do not know if there was areason why he put it there.

I believe the idea is to sense the boost sooner and hence fuel sooner. Idea sounds good to me. Good job on the gauge Scott.

Thanks for the pic Scott. Looks awesome! You should make a few of those brackets, or even better yet, make a kit for this and sell them. I'll be the first to place an order.

Cheers!

I did a little bit of searching and I found a couple of sites that reccomend the hot side install so for now I will just leave it the way that it is.

Thanks for the compliment, Mike and thanks to Brandon for the write up and the idea.

The bracket was the easiest part really. I used steel but you could use a piece of aluminum strap and then it would be super easy to make up.

I just got my under hood gauge in a couple weeks ago, and have been waiting for a clear day to get a decent photo. Don't know why the gauge itself keeps coming out a little blurry.. probably the old camera I'm using.

I wanted to keep a really low profile, so I used only an 8-inch hose and just twisted the 316 SS strap to keep the gauge low. Once I got the right twist in the strap, I buffed and polished it on my bench grinder. Nice thing is that since the strap was only 1" wide, I didn't have to spend any time to cut a notch in it.

O.K. I finally got my camera back from my daughters locker at school, so here are the pics.
If you'll notice the dirt and grime in pic 3 of the FP Guage, and then relook at pic 1 of how nice and shiny and clean everything is. All I've got to say is after a good degreasing of the engine bay and a few shots of the Teflon Shine that Pete turned us on to. WOW.... thanks for that Pete.

That really looks great, Brandon. I'm almost ready to give mine another shot and clean her up again, too.

Thanks, Scott. I just finally spun my clamps up on the right side intercooler tube right behind the gauge sort of like yours. Your engine bay really looks sharp, too, Scott. Spick-n-span clean.

It's probably just flared up a bit because of the clamp. I'll have to add this to mine as well -- looks great, guys!!

Interesting -- glad I asked. I still have to get mine tidied up (tee was the wrong size), so I'm thinking about doing the same thing.
