2001 F-150 4wd Problem?

2001 F-150 4wd Problem?
On a 2001 F-150 5.4L 4WD with auto hubs, is it normal to not have the wheel hop when the transfer case shift motor has been put into low or high 4wd? I can hear the 4WD shift motor transfer into both levels, but I dont have the wheel hop that is normally felt in 4WD. Is my 4wd shift motor bad? On my 99 Explorer sport, I do feel the wheel hopping when it is engaged in 4wd high and low. I know that shift motor is good, I replaced it myself with a Ford unit.

Provided you can hear the transfer case shift into different ranges I would say the vacuum disconnect for the front axle is at fault. It's not difficult to diagnose. Read these and the links in them and if you need anything else just yell.

Thanksncranchero..not to sound smart, I was thinking about that vacuum actuator on the axle today and the thought occured to me it could be faulty in some way; not engaging the front axle in 4WD. Or the 4wd solenoid under the hood; I'll do futher diagnosis on that.....
