Yep the 24 valvs sound like there idling high to me. I can't even hear mine running when my cousin pulls next to me in his CTD 24.

I'm somewhere between not being able to hear yourself think and the new Cummins motor.

I don't care for how quiet that thing is. I did a double take once when someone was getting diesel and I couldn't hear that it was a diesel. However, I like to be able to order drive thru and not have to turn the truck off. Personal preference.

I also want a truck that can haul 6 tons, handle well, ride like a dream and keep the same stance regardless of load, and get great mileage. However, that isn't a reality right now which is why I own the three cars in my sig, I couldn't get what I wanted out of one.

I hear ya...I couldn't make my mind up between the 6L and the 7.3..so I have both..and then theres the 2 TDI's...what at 40mpg, they are hard to beat..A little quieter as well...
