did you reinstall the return caps the right way ?? and are they seated ? is there a problem with the fuel supply system lines ... look for a fuel leak along the supply lines and at the lift pump weap hole. does this happen with both tanks ?
I am having the same problem with a 93 f350 7.3 . Starts fine in the morning and after cooling down . Kill it after running and it will start right up . If you let it sit for about 30 minutes it will not start .I was able to start it by bleeding the injector lines at the injectors . No fuel will come out for a few revolutions and then it will start pumping to the injectors . The fuel is getting to the ip , but somewhere it is allowing air in the system .
I have two 86 model f350's and they will prime themselves . I can change the filter , put it on dry and they bleed the air themselves without me doing anything but turning the key . I haven't figured out why this 93 7.3 won't self prime . I haven't tried starting the 7.3 with a dry filter to see if it will self prime .
I am determined to find this problem this week . I have already installed a return line kit and changed the out the check valve on top of the ip . It is getting personal now , I'm gonna figure this out ...lol.
wh336fire.........I want you to consider something else.................set up the conditions where it Will Not Start...............then run a jumper wire to the cold start timing advance solenoid...................see if it will "fire up"..................if it does..............advance the IP timing until it "fires up" under these conditions..................(with out the cold start timing advance active)

We haven't had this truck but a few months , but I can see that it has a remanufactured ip on it . I don't have any idea how long this ip has been on the truck , but it does'nt look too long .The problem could have prexisted because the truck has not been used much .
Hello all I just had this problem with my truck start great cold and run good start right away after turning off wait 15 min won't start untill ip is cold
problem rotor and head in ip worn by dirty fuel and this will happen over time
these are the most expensive parts in the pump many rebuilders will reuse these worn parts if they just barely pass testing and then you the customer will pull your hair out wondering whats wrong thinking you have new parts.
Hard start when hot=worn expensive parts
Have you checked your starter and batterys? a slow crank will cause the same problems... it does not take too much, heat causes more resistence which slows the starter down...
