Action... awsome write up there. I think that just sealed the deal for getting new injectors too.. along with replacing the glow plugs.

only thing i would change in that right up is dont drain the crankcase until you are finished and run it a few minutes. 2nd drain the fuel filter housing first. 3rd dont crank th emotor over until you reinstall the injectors, leave the glow plugs out but the injectors need to be in before cranking. we have mechanical fuel pumps vs the sd's electric, as soon as you crank the fuel begins to flow and there is potential to still fill the pistons even after blowing them out. with the injectors in but glow plugs out there is no risk of engine damage and you still blow any crap out, start out cranking once or twice around by hand to make sure it isnt hydrolocked and then crank with the key, no need to pull fuses, nothing will fire with the valve cover harnesses unplugged

also a hundred bucks is ahundred bucks, i would ohms the glowplugs, if they check out and arent swollen why waste the money? they are not hard to install so why spend it when they still work, normally you'll go through 10 relays before a set of plugs go out, i'm over 225k and mine are origonal, at 205 or so i put o-rings in and checked mine, all 8 are in perfect working order

Yep, Joe that makes sense with the glow plugs. Sounds like this process is not too difficult. I guess I'm gonna join the band wagon and get myself a set of stage II's from dpppower.com. (before i get married and hard kids! lol.)
