i am wondering if someone on here may be able to walk me through the removal of the driver side rear inside trim panel on a '97 expedition. it would be the one just to the rear of the long side window. i have a project in mind that requires this panel to come off in order to access a wire bundle which is behind it.
for you tailgaters, by cutting the white wire with the purple stripe and installing a switch, you can turn off all those pesky in-vehicle and running board lights, without having to pull a fuse. thanks hokiebob. i've had this modification in mind for quite a while, now it is time to get'r done!
Pry up the window switch trim; disconnect the electrical connector to power window switch
Remove door handle trim cover; remove the bolt retaining the door handle
Remove the 2 trim screws at the bottom of the door panel-lift the trim panel UPWARD to avoid damaging it, not outward. It basically hangs in place from the top.
thanks for the help, but you are releasing the door panel.....that's not my problem.
again- i am wanting to take off the inside rear most interior trim panel, driver side. it is the one just to the rear of the large expy side window..on 3 seat models, there is a third row shoulder belt anchor sticking out of the plastic panel. on my '97, the panel curves into the rear door inside seal.
gevans, i will however print off your directions just in case i might need them in the future. thanks....
