I searched dealerships by Ellensburg, WA and called the closest five dealerships. None of them have had an 6.4L with head gasket issues, or so the service managers told me. However, everyone of them stated something to the effect, "the 6.0L was a complete mess" or "plagued with problems". They all seemed to think, although at least a couple said there aren't enough rigs with enough miles to know for sure, that the 6.4L is a bigger/better 6.0L with all the bugs worked out.
PS162: Just post your vin# so all the naysayers are proven wrong.
My only issue with your posts are they are so negative toward the 6.0!
There are more 6.0's on the road with out problems than v10 or v8 Super duties combined. The fact is that they outsold the gas engines 3 to 1 and if your going to have issues with 1 in 20 then you will hear 3x as many problems with the 6.0 as the others.

It's good to read some sound logic in the midst of supposition.
I'm one in the 6.0 population with built date 1-2-03 and am very satisfied with my purchase.
I have no experience with the 6.0 so I have never had a comment on them, however the V-10 is IMO an exceptional gas motor. I have 2 of them with well over 200,000 miles combined and have had 0 problems with either of them. They both run great and are very strong.

If someone doesn't have any major problems with his superduty thats great but think how that feels when that special superduty lets you down in a big hurry. Is it wrong to say so or is it bashing Ford ?
My special superduty 6.0 is in the shop now for 3 weeks plus and still don't have a firm answer on what's wrong. SA says new engine and waiting to hear from Ford . I think 3 weeks is long enough to get an answer . So when does it become bashing ????
I make money using my truck every week and I've lost alot of money because of it.

Is the use the unapproved fuel going to cause you warranty issues?
It should cause warranty problems, the fact that you have engine failure could be the fact that you are using waste oil for fuel. People like you are the reason its so hard for people with non-modded trucks to get them repaired. If I scattered my truck, being chipped up like it used to be im not gonna blame the truck. I haven had my chip on my truck in over 10K miles just for the simple fact that I want it too last until my 08 gets in, but if it breaks, it breaks.

Second thing I never said it was a warranty claim so how am I hurting anybody trying to get their trucks repaired ?
Get a clue and read the whole post before you respond and know what your talking about...geeezzzz
Is the use the unapproved fuel going to cause you warranty issues?
Thats the thing its been over 3 weeks and no answer. Warranty or not I need my truck on the road. SA knows I run bio and doesn't think that is an issue . The truck ran perfect going to the dealer and only thing I took it in for was oil in the coolant which I would think is an oil cooler leaking. We will see.
