Maxed out Pyrometer?
I had to do a test to see if a larger exhaust system was worth it. I put a 0 to 5 psi gage in down pipe before the cat. With a max hp chip in, full throttle,3000 rpm,30 psi boost, I had 4 psi back pressure in stock exhaut, ex temp about 1300 f befor turbo,
I installed a 4 in exhast system,back pressure is less than 1psi and I can't get et above 1100 f turbo get boost faster, the trade "off" is more ex noise in cab.
I's hard to believe that Ford puts shuch a minamul ex haust system on.
Cat engine spec. is less than 27 in of water of exhaust back pressure.
99 F350 7.3 auto. supperchip ,KN air filter,boost, ex temp& trans temp gages,Gale Banks ex. no cat, 4x4 drw, 355 differentals

sort of like a race muffler, it's a straight thru design with louvers in it, helps a lot.
you can mount it where the stock cat used to be.
