I have been looking into buying the 16614 Maggie SI/DO, and have read threads about the factory hitch problems and maybe having to slightly modify the setup.
Then a friend got one on his truck and only had to weld the hanger a little differently. No big deal at all. But I had an aftermarket hitch put on mine after a dealer mistake, which seems to be much wider. Long story short I have decided to get a SI/SO Maggie. My question is does anyone know the part number for the 18inch muffler that will fit our inlet and outlet sizes. My truck is a 2006 SCAB 5.4L. Also what size tip would I need to order. My plan is to just get the muffler and tip and have a local shop install it. Any help would be appreciated.
I believe the 16612 system has the 18" Magnaflow muffler on it. Just installed one on my '07 SCrew. It came with 3" tailpipe and 4" stainless tip.
This information is for a stainless system, not just the muffler. I shopped around on the internet and found a pretty good deal at Complete Exhaust for my truck.
I bought a used Magnaflow $40. (3" in 3" out) I took it to the muffler shop, and said build me a cat back around this. I have about $170 into it. It's not duels. Works great.
Ya dude, just go to a muffler shop and have them custom make you one, you will save a ton of money. They can even build a dual exhaust around your hitch.
I've had alot of custom exhausts done on my F-150's. and they all ran me $500 plus for aluminized pipe. Sound quality was okay, but not what I truly wanted. alot of shops will also use 2.5" pipe to cut costs. if I'm not mistaken, the Maggie mufflers are 3" inlet, and 3" outlet.
I paid $475 for my Magnaflow SIDO shipped from Bob Jusnes and then installed in my driveway. It's a true 3" pipe with 4" tips. And it's stainless steel. Not aluminum. For once, I actually got a decent sound quality. Loud when you romp on it, but civilized highway tones.
The 2004 and some 2005 models are the ones with the fitment issue. My 16614 kit fit just fine. Unless your aftermarket hitch is way wider, I'd say to just get the whole kit and if need be, have a shop weld 1 or 2 brackets on for you.
i went with a full system from Pace Setter on my 05 it came with hangers that you back a bolt out of the hitch and put the bracket on and run the bolt back in. the complete kit cost $270 and i get nothing but compliments on its sound.... the wife is even happy with it btw SIDO 2.5 pipes with 18" long 2.5 to 3.5 tips

When you say full system do you mean from the manifold back. That is a great deal. That's a good if it's a cat back also.
