slider rear window

I'd like to put a slider rear window in my highboy. I want a GOOD one, preferably OEM Ford. The only one I can find aftermarket is LMC's, and, well, we all know about LMC. All the junkyards around here got rid of their 73-79s a long time ago. I tried getusedparts.com and got one for $140 plus shipping. Anybody know any good yards close to Northern Indiana where I could get one, or a good aftermarket?

Remember that you can use a window from any ford from 73-96. Should give you a few more options.

Why not just go to local auto glass shop and have them sell and install it ..right there for you ?
Most places they are $149.95 (or less) Installed

That's right, glass shops sell them brand new cheap. I got my cr laurence out of a scrapyard '95 - great condition and tinted for $20.

I tried that after I saw you guys mention that before. Our local glass shops wanted $300+ for one installed and I said, "No Thanks".

I would def. try to find a later model slider. I got a brand new, in the box, late '90's model OEM at a swap meet for $50. Another $50 to install. It looks a lot cleaner b/c it doesnt have the smaller inner frame. The glass itself is a lot larger. PICS:

not trying to hijack here, but have any of you guys installed an electric slider? I have a crew and would love a slider, but can't reach it-- worth the expense to you? (the only electric slider I've found is almost $500!)

Try an accessory shop. Laurence is a good brand.

The screw isn't intended for slack adjustment. It is used to set preload i.e. turning torque required on the steering wheel.

Will a 73-96 from a 150, 250, and 350 all fit the same? I have a 78 and need a new slider, I too would like the early to mid 90's kind (easier to find!)

Yes, the cabs were not exclusive between 150, 250 or 350 during these runs
