The exhaust side is the bottleneck on the E7's. You can't hurt them by opening them up. I just stay away from the flooor and short side radius, you can screw up the flow with that. All the flow there is on the top of the passage anyway. And don't worry about screwing up E7's, there's plenty more where they came from. They were used on all the pickup/van 5.0's & 5.8's from 87-97, in addition to those used on the Mustang 5.0.
