Oil Pressure mounting ??

I have and aftermarket gauge and the connection for the line is a 1/8" npt on the aftermarket. My factory sending unit is an o-ring seal connection, I think 1/4". I have tried NAPA and hose making shops and we can't seem to figure out how to put a "T" in the o-ring system and come out with 1/8" npt. Help???
I know some of you have done this but how?

use the connection down by the oil filter pictured here where my Bypass filter supply line goes into the oil cooler header. its 1/4 pipe i believe so you will need a 1/4 to 1/8 bushing and it will help you retain the factory gauges also.

There are two plugs there one looks to be 1/4" npt and the lower one looks to be 1/8" npt. What is the lowert one for? The top one is 1/4" npt, and I understand that is the one you suggest to use.

I am not sure which plug you are asking about. there is one plug that I have used for the supply line for the bypass filter. that one is either 1/8 or 1/4 can't remember and is below and forward of the block heater. I think that is the only port that is one the oil cooler header.

you know now that I think about it I think the one I have used for the supply line and you should use for your gauge is 1/8 inch pipe. I think I have my picture labeled wrong.

There are two plugs just to the left. The top one is larger than the lower one. Can I use either?

You know after reinvestigating I believe the lower one is a bolt that holds the housing on. I will try the upper one and post back. Thanx Tim.

yes you are correct. the lower is a mounting bolt. the upper is the one you want. I made the same mistake when I first started looking at them for the bypass filter.

Duh. I guess I need glasses. Or possibly a shop here at work so I can do this while I am here. What do they think I am supposed to do, crawl under it in the parking lot? LOL. Thanx again I will try this this afternoon.

I put the bypass filter on for better filtering. No problems with the full flow just can't keep up with the needed flow and filter down really small. so the bypass filter was added. I was also running synthetic oil in hopes of longer oil change intervals but have since gone back to regular oil and 5k oil changes with the bypass still in place.

Why? I was considering doing the same thing, in fact your web shots are what gave the courage to do it.

I went back to dino oil and 5k changes number 1 cause my truck uses too much oil to be replacing 1 quart of synthetic every 1000 miles and I got a bad oil anyalsis back at 10k and the idle wasn't right with that many miles on the oil. For the offset cost of the sythetic oil wasn't worth the gain. Actually I saw no gain that was tangible from using sythetic other than to say that I was using it. Truck didn't start different, didn't run different, didn't get better mileage. Not to say its not better cause there are alot of internal things that may have been better but there PSD that have gone 500k on rotella 15W40 and never saw a drop of sythetic. so I switched back.

Good to know, I was looking at doing some testing along those same lines, the oil analysis is key, which kind of synthetic did you use.
