My wheel is pretty getting pretty beat and id like to replace it. Does anyone know if a superduty steering wheel will fit in our trucks? Theres a lot of them in the scrap yards around here in good shape.
Not sure if it will fit. I would think so though. I wish I was lucky enough to have SD's in the yards around here. I need alot of their stuff. If you do the SD wheel double check the wiring to be sure it is similiar. You may have to rewire some of the plugs though. Also the SD's have airbags and we don't, so that may be a factor as well.
I just figured i wouldnt hook the airbag up. Or remove completely from the pad. Thats the only downside too, they are all missing the pad/airbag part. I think im going to give it a shot.
I need 7.3 inter cooler tubes and an early'99 spider pipe and a 17*HPOP. I could keep going but these are the hot items. Also a cheap set of injectors to use as cores.
Well guess what. The thing fits. I got it in today and it looks great. I havent attempted the electrical end of it yet. Im still trying to find a wire diagram for it, and im waiting on the clockspring to come. I also found this thing on the web called an SWI-JACK which allows you to use your factory steering wheel controls with your aftermarket stereo. It only works with certain head units, but just so happens mine is one of them. The horn and cruise should be no prob. The hvac controls though. I dont think thats going to happen. Unless someone else has an idea?
