Hey guys I'm wondering... have you seen a 1995 MFI 4.9L mate to an AODE tranny???
I have seem with E4OD and also C6 configuration but never with an AODE...
I have several days looking in all my library and CD's and have not found any document to validate this configuration. Ford didn't assembly trucks like this?
I'm pretty sure the only engine that ever saw an AODE/AODEW (4R70/4R70W) was the 302 in the trucks. The 3.0/4.0 rangers/explorers got a version of it as well. The 300/351/460/7.3 all got the E4OD(4R100), or C6 trans.
You could use one . Finding a flywhelll with right balance would be a pain . You would nee custom ECU/PCM to combine motor trans . And possibly driveshaft changes.

I wish it had OD but as tough as it has been I have saved more in repairs than the fuel I would have saved.
OD version of C6 is E4OD, electonic controlled of course. I had use AOD in my trucks for years and it does the job very well, not as strong as C6 or E4OD but good enought for light duty trucks and save a lot of fuel since its overdrive is 0.65:1 or so...
I am sure they are better now but in 91 I bought a new F-150 5.0/E40D. The transmission was never right they replaced it a couple times and never got it.
In 92 I traded it in for a new F-250 7.3/5sp. I drove that truck over 400k. I wish everything would last like that
