ok doke i need some assistance guy's 'n' gals . ineed to find a site or link that will take me to a manufacturer of wheel bearings , but more exactly i need a chart with the dimensions of the bearings . i'm stripping down the 74 / 55 frame that got bent up and am considering trying to swap the discs or spindles or a whole combination of different parts to acheive my goal of being cheap and puttting them on my 53 .i have tried national, federal mogul , timken and others but no luck or my computor illiteracy is showin' up again . so any one got any info ????????
Tell me the specifics and I can look it up in a New Departure or Timken hard copy catalog I have. Need to know OD, ID, roller or ball, thickness thru the ID and length of the outer race.
But be aware, in bearings, "close" doesn't count. The bearings used by Ford, GM, etc., may not be off-the-shelf bearings that are listed in the catalogs. An application book like NAPA, etc., have behind the counter would be your best source. Your combination may not even be possible to resolve solely with new bearings.
thanx albuq and yes i know that close doesn't count . im trying to find out if i can use the rotors / disc brakes off of my 74 / 55 frame on the stock spindles of the 53 by finding out the dimensions of the wheel bearings and seeing if they " interchangeable " or if i can find a replacement bearing to rectify the issue . i dont own a set of mic's or i'd do some ol' fashioned measuring , so im trying to be logical { darn why did that word hurt !! } and find what i need before pursuing other alternate routes .
Most roller (ball or tapered) bearings have Industry numbers stamped on them. Any parts store can cross those Industry numbers over to their brand. I can cross those Industry numbers to Ford part numbers, and vice versa.
Example: 1948/56 F1/F100 rear axle bearing, Industry # 88128 or 88128R = Ford (updated) Part Number: C1SZ-1225-A
