pushrod length
I have a set of C6AE-R heads and I am wondering what length pushrod I SHOULD be using for a set of adjustables and hyd. lifters. I ordered a set of cranes that are for adjustables and hyd. lifters and they will work but my adjusters only have about .035 left after running the lifter down about .040. I was thinking that the adjuster should have been around the half way mark if the pushrods are for this application. the rocker stands are c4ae and measure .005 longer than a set of hyd non adjustable rockers from a 68. my cam is a new one, not regrind. hope thats enough info.

With .040" lifter preload you'll be fine, over time the valves will seat in and sink adding to your preload. Better to run at the minimum preload than maximum should you have lifter pump up which could cause a valve to piston

ya, that makes sense to me. I never thought about the valves seating in, just thought about everything else seating in and making my clearance increase. but with the valves seating in it should help to counter act that some. thanks.
just seems weird to run the adjusters almost all the way run in.
