my rear spring perches are getting a little rough so i am putting them on my growing list as well, has anybody tryed to flip the new bracket upside down for added lift and have the spring hang vs sit above the perch? or is that the same thing as the reverse shackle mod that people are doing?
I don't know for sure, but I've seen em on here before, but I'm not 100& sure if it was these models....might have been older trucks....IIRC they were too awful bad...but as always I could be wrong.
hmmm the first kit is for the front, the one i need looks to be at the bottom(red and green brackets) but good lord 4.5 inches more lift? how the heck do i compensate for that? lol i guess i could pull the stock blocks out. they are good for 2 inches. that may actually look pretty good, the rear would then sit about 2-2.5 inches higher than the front
are u talking about the rear springs or the front spring REAR perches. i think you are talking about the back, i didn't know there was a reverse shackle for the rear.
the front kit from Sky is called a shackle reversal since you are moving the shackl from the front of the truck to the rear of the truck. the rear kit from sky is called a shackle flip since you are essentially flipping the shackle.
i ran a shackle flip from sky for a couple of years. i have pics of the install in my galllery. i loved it! however if you haul heavy loads (IE car on a car hauler trailer or load of wood in the bed) so not, i repeat DO NOT run a shackle flip. the shackles are meant to be held in tension not compression (shackle down) and i have personally seen shackles fold over and cause problems.
