I have a 03 F350 v10 and got a used Kenne bell superchager for it off Ebay, It came with a FMU and a boost a pump, So i ditched the FMU and got 36 pound injectors and a new chip from kenne bell, in order for the injectors to work i had to cut off the old injector plugs and solder the new harnesses in, I also put on NGK plugs that are a heat range cooler and gaped them to 35 thousandths, But I got a autometer wideband A/F gauge, and when im at 3000 rpm the gauge reads 11 to 12 and at 4500 rpm it reads 10.2 also when i get off the gas it reads 16 for a few second and then goes back to 14.7. I know that this cant be right does anyone know what i should do any advise would be appreciated.
10.2 is a little rich at WOT but that's ok. Better safe then sorry.
Is your gauge a good one or a cheapo? If it's a cheapo it could be the gauge. They tend to jump all over the place.
Have you ever had it on a dyno. Were they hook right in to your 02 port to get the AFR?
As you can see by this dyno graph. It starts out way lean and then holds a good 11.5 across the board.

The wideband o2 is the best I could buy from autometer i paid 320 for it doesn’t jump around and is accurate. it has been on the dyno when i still had the fmu and it wasn’t doing consistent pulls and would jump form rich to lean that’s why i went with bigger injectors, and after I did the injectors i got the A/F gauge, but i know that it is very accurate. But when i told the guy who did the dyno pull for me that it currently runs 10.2 at WOT he said it wasn’t good and be thought that the boost was blowing out the spark, every thing feels fine to me and its only 6psi kit, Which leads me to another question now, After seeing how much boost you guys are running do you guys think I could get a 9psi without damaging anything to get some more power and lean it out a little?
So after what i have told you guys so far do you think i could run a water/methonal kit? And if you buy a kit do you have to get a new tune in your truck? Also are there any disadvanteges to water/methonal? dose the water cause rust in the supercharger?
thanks for the help guys.
Yes you can run a W/M kit without tuning. But you will get much more benefit & power from it if you tune for it.
The only disadvantage to it that I know of is keeping the bottle full,,,lol.
I had a Snow Performance kit on my truck for a long time.
If your running the non inter-cooled KB it will help a lot in keeping things cool!
It's funny because we hear the same complaint about our competitor's kit all the time... not enough water/alcohol capacity.
Our trunk mount system comes with a 1.5 gallon tank. On most vehicles this will last about a month. If you're doing some serious towing you may have to fill it up a little more frequently but you will undoubtedly fill your fuel tank up more than you will fill your water/alcohol tank up!!
Now, some guys on here do some serious towing everyday of the week. For those applications we can set up a 6 gallon tank. Either way, we have the set up to prevent having to fill your water/alcohol tank up every couple of days.
WATER WILL NOT CAUSE RUST IN THE SUPERCHARGER The water (which is a very, very, very fine mist) just won't last inside the supercharger because of the air velocity traveling through it and the enormous amount of heat generated. Also, your supercharger should be constructed entirely of aluminum which doesn't really rust.
Thanks for the help, Ill most likly get a kit in the future and see what it can do, I called kenne bell and they told me to get a water metonal kit and a smaller 8lb pully with a new tune. That was after i asked them if they sold a water to air intercooler for my v1o.
