Bonus Built = Ford's name for the 1948/52 trucks. Had more features than Chevy offered.
Advanced Design = Chevrolet's name for its 1948/54 trucks
Yeah, as Forest Gump says"Stupid is as Stupid does" That's me sometimes?? No seriously, I don't know everything, but I aim to find out about what interest me.Thanks guys for all your info this site is great place to learn about these great old trucks!!!
I guess I'll show my ignorance here to. I thought a bonus build was when you found a truck that was in really great shape, no rust, and every thing was on the truck. LOL now I know better. .......RUSTY
OK - so I know what the meaning of bonus built is . But what is the meaning of Effie ? Been here a short time but always declined to ask.
"Effie" is from the F in F100 and is usually used to refer to the 53-56 fat fendered F100's, although I have heard some use it for later Ford trucks as well.
Your right in your version of the meaning, "Bonus Build",and that may add new light and further explanation to the term "Bonus Built" When the truck is complete thats a Bonus in itself.
So never under estimate the way you think, of a meaning, and if you wouldn't mind I think I will add that pharse to my version.
