hello fellow F-150 family.....I have a problem that I hope is minor. I have a vibration on in gear and I am still. runs fine when moving or in park.....any ideas?
from your discribition its hard to know but sounds like IAC motor ( Idle Air Control Motor) can cause the 4.6l to surge, almost die when come to a stop at a red light but i would not just replace it without testing first
BUMP - Same problem. 4.6, 2000 Expedition XLT 4x4. usually runs fine, no codes, randomly at a stop, truck acts like it did not shift out of gear, and tries to die, and then bucks with my foot on the brake. Feels like staging a drag car, rolling up a little at the sign or light, bucks and sometimes completely dies. Shift to park, starts right back up. Replaced IAC last year, checked it again, still pretty clean. Maybe TPS?
I have an '86 Ranger, 2.3L, auto, 2wd, 200K+. Symptoms are identical as NC2, I have always blamed the trans. Feels like the trans clutches are hanging up, wouldn't be surprised if drums have grooves worn preventing full release. Also someone mentioned to me that torque converter is locking up,not sure if thats possible. Have learned to live with it.
