Well some of you may have read my initial problem - of course it was MY stupidity...
But now that I've been able to run her MAN she's one happy girl !!!
I've had an Edge Juice with Attitude so that, plus just stock is my benchmark. I got mine with high idle, 80 econo, 60 tow, 120 , and 140 for smoke
60 tow - can't really say much cuz I haven't towed my boat yet - hope to this weekend
80 econo - VERY nice.. tonz of smoke even in that tune - can start to break the tires loose - NICE crisp shifts. I got on a highway and was running about 72mph, about 1800 rpm's and the EGTs were barely 650 !!!! I can tell this will be my daily driving mode.
120 race/agg - wow, LOTS of power, she SCREAMS. It does NOT take long to get the EGT's to 1100 and almost 30 lbs of boost !!!
140 smoke - all I can say is that I can darken the sun
I can only IMAGINE what this tune would do with stacks !!!!!!!
High Idle - had Jody set it to 1200 rpms. Would be nice if the brake would stop it and it would only high idle in park, but I'll get used to that.
So I'm a VERY happy guy. I feel like my truck is finally "awake" ..
That's my recommendation. I think it is one of the best out there. Just don't touch it, I mean the adjustment ****, just install it. You have not set of the SES light yet?
He'll throw some SES lights when he attempts to outrun me :-P
Ya'll shoulda heard this poor guy.. He's blowing my phone up at work, pissed off bout his issues.. Now he's smiling like a 12 year old that got his first kiss.. I'm so proud, my boy grown up.. LMAO
Don't give him no ideas on upgrades.. He kills me every weekend with mods.. Just ask him bout his damn nerf bars.. Hey Storm, crawl under here and put this blanket over you.. Imma weld above your head! LOL
ITP OBA works great -- I put mine on at the same time I installed the tuner. I still set the low HPOP pressure in 120 though. The way to tell the difference between low HPOP pressure & overboost/defueling (besides reading them out) is if the CEL goes away after ~2 minutes. If it does, you set the low HPOP soft code. If it only goes away after shutting down the truck, you went over ~23psi & tripped the overboost code.
Fun DP/soot story from yesterday. I take the access road up I35E here in DFW home instead of the main part of the highway (I'm not on it that long). Where I turn on there are already cars running 50+ mph. So I launched it around the corner and got into traffic leaving a pretty substantial cloud behind me. I get to the one traffic light along the road and I get passed by a CTD in the right lane who proceeds to leave a decent (not great, but decent) soot cloud. I eventually get around him after receiving a few puffs and launch on it in 120 and give him a good one. He ends up taking a different exit than I do off the access road, so I think he's gone. He ends up catching me again in traffic on the road I just exited on near my neighborhood and tries it again, so I end up getting in front of him in a different lane and lay one for all I can before turning into my neighborhood. As he passed by we both waved and went on our way. I learned two things: 1) I need the 140 Smoke tune, and 2) It was fun trading some soot with another (friendly) diesel driver of another manufacturer. BTW, when we both got on it, he didn't pull away from me, but I couldn't catch him either. Traffic kept getting in our way, so I don't know who was faster, but I know we were close. Also, his cloud wasn't pure black like mine was -- his had quite a bit of gray color to it. Anyone know why?
Enjoy your Tuner, TNT -- the fun's just beginning...
