In 1980, there was no 351w option in a truck. So you will never find a diagram for it. Where did the 351w come from? What are you taking out, a 302? You could take all the vacuum lines and switches carefully off the 302 and see if they will plug into the 351w carb if both engines had the motorcraft 2bbl.
The motor that im taking out is a stock 400 with motorcraft 2bbl, and all i know about the new motor is that the guy had it in a 87ish body style pickup and it originally came from a car i believe. It has a carter AFB carb, edelbrock performer intake, really loppy cam, 10:1 comp, a rebuilt distributor w/vacuum advance etc...but i would really appreciate it if one of you guys could help me out with running the vacuum for it. Just let me know any info you need and i have a few pics as well. Thanks guys.
That engine is not stock at all. So I would not worry about any emissions vacuum lines. All you need to do is find a port in the rear to the hook the brake booster up, another port in the back in the manifold for the hose going to the manifold mounted on the firewall, and after you get it running, find a port on the carb that has no vacuum on it at idle, and does have vacuum when you rev the engine. This port will hook to the distributor vacuum. If it runs as rough as you say it does, you may not be able to find a port on the carb with no vacuum, since the idle will be turned up high to keep it running. So just pick one and hook it to the dist.
