There are options for the back ground. Mine is set to match the truck gauges.

I do not know about the color of the Gryphon unit itself. My Edge is silver-grey and the mounting pod is black. Yes, you can run 94 on level 3. You would need to bump the timing up +1.5 to take advantage of the octane. It adds about 25 HP. The big difference too is in the shfiting characteristics.
