Help asap! How to get spark plug wires off?
My check engine light was coming on and showing code 304 - Cylinder 4 misfire. Autozone suggested I replace all plugs first, if that doesn't fix it, then wires.
I cant get #4 wire off, I've pulled and pulled and it won't come out, even went and bought a spark plug wire puller. Should the engine be cold? Should it be running (that's what it says on the back of the wire puller, that the truck should be running).
Can I use wd40 or something like that?
Thanks.
Eric

Try running the engine for a few minutes, turn off and then twist in one direction and then the other while gently pulling. This might break the grip it has on the plug. As the others mentioned, a small dab of dielectric compound inside the boot will keep it from happening again.
Good luck,
Al
