Christmas Vs.....the P.C. Crowd.
I think she is on to something ,so I thought I would share it with FTE.
LETTER OF THE DAY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WITH ALL the usual waffling over the coming holiday, perhaps it's time for Christians to take back Christmas. No, not to make sure trees are called "Christmas trees" and not "holiday trees" or that songs refer not just to giving but the whole holiday!
We should remove Christmas from the list of Canada's statutory holidays. Christians can take Dec. 25 and 26 as vacation days, just as those of other religious groups take theirs.
On those days, we can do what we already do ... remember Christ's birth and give token gifts in celebration.
Those who are not Christians will no longer have to tolerate Christmas parties, bonuses, cards, gifts, parades, decorations, songs, Santa or days off with nothing to do. The retailers will not have to work long hours selling items to those who feel it is politically incorrect to force others to celebrate.
Everyone but Christians can treat Dec. 25 and 26 as regular work days and keep everything running normally while Christians enjoy their holiday in peace. This means no holiday schedules for planes, buses etc. - no closing of stores, banks, or businesses - no drinking and driving and accidents.
This solution should make everyone happy and keep Christians from offending the rest of the country.
What's that? You say you're still entitled to those days off, and all the benefits and enjoyment of the holiday as long as you are not required to acknowledge it for what it is?
Oh, well, I guess I will never really get it. Merry Christmas anyway, and peace on Earth.

It's like common sense- why do they call it common if it's so rare?

I work at a multi-religeous company, so No Christmas Party.
How about Holiday party, seems fair enough, but alas we have atheists so no Holiday party.
Getting annoying already, well what about a end of the year party?
No we have one single Jehovah's Witness and they do not have parties to celebrate birthdays or holidays so we have an:
END OF THE YEAR EVENT!!
How PC can we get people??? AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
I am not bagging on any particlular religion but please people have some sense.
Also, I'd like to see Christmas become less commercial. I think it has lost its original meaning. I absolutely hate this time of year because of the pressure to buy something for everyone.

CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!Then, I get to go to my step-relatives house and get gifts from people I only see once a year, and feel so wierd about it I just get drunk as hell and pass out.
In defense of the Christmas party, I feel so great about my company actually footing the bill for a night of drinking. Last year, we all voted to have our party at a seedy dive bar in the industrial sector, with free mexican buffet and all you can drink all night, with paid cabs home. That was cool!
I am going to start baking magic brownies for everybody for X-mas, so they will just get mellow and shut up and quit asking me personal questions...
I can't wait for New Years!
