Flathead oil pan with MII suspention.

Does anyone know of a supplier for a flathead oil pan that will clear a Fatman Fab MII front crossmember?

Thanks in advance
Rick

Not for sure. Won't the rear sump truck or mercury car pans clear it? AFAIK nobody is making a flathead oil pan in the repop market, but if anybody would know it would be Speedway. Google should bring up their website.

I'd ask Fatman, too, can't be the first time anyone's done it. There are so many variables tho, like drop and steering box/linkage, who knows? Maybe it can't be done. Are you using rack & pinion? Is it in front of the 'member or behind?

flathead oilpan

I called Fatman's and they said they had done many 48-52 F-1 with flatheads with no issues at all. Since the engine sits a little further forward in the "53 chassis, they can notch their crossmember to fit your flathead pan.

Fatman

If we know the crossmember will be fitted with a Flathead, we add a notch to the crossmember to make that work (at no extra charge). If that asn't done at the time of the order, you could return the crossmember for us to do it. Or you could make your own notch 10" wide, beginning at the top front corner and going down to the rear lower corner.

Then box that open section for strength and staying clean. Since the crossmember is made with 5/16" wall steel tube, the beam strength will still be fine.

I would attach a photo, but this site won't let me do so (or at least I can't figure it out) Give us a call and we can email a photo of more info is needed, thanks
