Well, bought a better tap and everything worked fine. Used a small magnet and the vacume to suck all the shavings out. Hooked everything up and seems to work great. Temp got up to 700 on the way to work (highway @ 70 mph) didn't realize how fast it rises the more whistle you make. Want to thank everyone for the great help and advice.
Is that hot?? So far I got the boost alittle past 20 and the egt was around 1000 then i got off it and the egt went down to 200-400 area. What range should i be in. I have a 2003 4x4 cc, 6spd, intake, 4" from turbo, and a superchip. When i got to work and pulled in and parked the egt was at 200ish.

That sounds about right. I thought 700 was a bit low.
Mine runs 700°-750° at 70 mph. The general rule is that you can run at 1200° for a pretty good while, but 1300° will cause problems pretty quick.
I've run mine at 1100°+ on a particular steep climb every day for over two weeks and just let it cool down before shutting it off. That was 3yrs ago and no problems yet at all.
Glad you got it handled, as I know how frustrating it can be when things go south at the start.
I've noticed anywhere from 550 to 700 at 65-70 running the DP 80HP Econo. Depends on the outside temp, wind direction, grade, etc. As soon as I jump on it, the EGTs go right up over 1000-1100 real quick, but they don't get much above that unloaded until I'm way up into the speedo dial (like when it falls back to 0)...
Probably the most economical thing you can do it just to drill it w/ a 7/16" bit and then tap it 1/4"NPT and use a 1/4" NPT fitting for your thermocouple. We have the fittings here: http://www.dieselmanor.com/isspro/isspro_accy.asp You're looking for part # R684 Steel Compression Fitting, 1/4" NPTF, for Thermocouples to be used in 1/4" NPT threads.
It's toward the bottom of the page. If you need the tap and/or bits we have them too http://www.dieselmanor.com/dm_products/TAP1418.asp
