hid headlight conversion kits

I was wondering if anyone has tried converting to hid. I have been researching my options and found some options on ebay. my biggest concern is being able to still use the high/low beam. some kits offer hid for high beam and some offer halogen for the high beam. what color range is best and close to stock for navigators and such?

Is there any issues with the excess heat of the HID's causing the headlights plastic lense to melt?

HID's i believe run cooler not hotter. They also use less power, not that it really matters. SO far so good. Im gettin those pics soon

I put HID's in my old 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 and they were hotter than Haiti's but that truck had glass housings. They are really straight forward to install. Takes about 2 hours just to find good mounting spots for the control boxes and to wire them up.
