2.9 problems

i have a 88 ranger 4x4 5 speed with a 2.9 engine my prob is it boiling coolent in to the resvoir the heads was check for cracks and there was none head gaskets was replaced we removed the thermostat it will run to the m on the gauge it runs fine all day but when you turn the engine off about 5mins later you will hear coolent boiling in the resvior any ideas what could it be please help

Blackcrow,when you shut an engine off the coolant is no longer circulating so the temp actually goes up for a short time before it starts the cooldown.I've heard mention on various Ranger sites that the radiators are a bit too small but I have'nt had any problems with mine...maybe because the a/c is inop.Good Luck

My 87 Ranger 2.9 v6 was doing that also. It has never overheated, so I think I blew
a head gasket. I used K&W Block Seal and it stopped. Has ran well, but had to do two applications about 2 months apart. I didn't drive it inbetween, as it is not my everyday truck. Good luck.
