Smile First Time Towing With Super Duty...WOW!!!

I recently returned from vacation in the high sierras.I towed my 21ft. skiboat to an elevation of 7200 ft.I have the V10.UNBELIEVABLE!!! Best towing vehicle ever.Went up the grapevine (CA) like nuthin was back there,(70 plus). When i got to the steep grades on hwy 168 it pulled effortlessly. This is a 01 with 61000 mi on it btw.Stunned that it still runs like brand new.I have never had so much fun towing something up steep grades.

Also note, be careful of the California Highway Patrol. They will want your autograph for doing 70 towing anything. If your towing anything at all, its 55mph. But it is nice to be able to run like a strapped ape

CHiPs must be having a field day. I was just there last month and every truck I was near (including me and all 18 wheelers) was towing at speeds way above 55 !!

You also have to be careful to stay in the 2 right lanes when towing in CA. A friend was towing a boat for another guy and he didn't know about the lower speed limit and lane restrictions when towing. It made for an expensive lesson when he was just helping someone move his boat.

Very true. I was climbing up the pass on I-5 northbound, almost to Oregon, when a doofuss with a dodge and a 5ver pulled in front of me and the CHP behind me (both in the left lane to pass said doofuss)

Doofuss got a ticket, I was highly ammused.

Right on! I have an 01 CC, LB, 6in on 35s, 66K on the odometer. Pulled the grapevine and the 168 several times. Some tough grades. I also have no trouble pulling 26' 7.5K (dry weight) TT up those grades. I run the A/C the whole trip. My V10 is turning at about 4.2K at about 68 mph up those grades and it has never failed me or been to the shop. I am not bashing, but I can not say the same for the four 6.0 PSDs I cruise with! Keep on truckin...
