No too dificult, it also depends on what model/year you have as well. On my 2001 I have a programmer you simpky plug into the computer port under the steering wheel, upload your factory program and download your new program and thats it. Takes about a minute. I know there are chips you actualy install as well, but it all looks pretty simple from what I have seen. Check out www.bamachips.com
