and i was wondering......they also coated the outer part of the wheel that will be INSIDE the tire (not very weel either) - is that gonna be a problem?? do i need to hit that area with some steel wool (which will take forever!!! ) or will they be ok to remount my tires on to...???
When you buy white or black spoke wagon wheels, they are painted where the bead is seated, so I don't see where powder coating would affect the bead seating.
it was originally $45/wheel - but once i asked for the outside lip to be clean - they charged $5 more for the masking...c'est la vie!
i had em done @ HYTECH in inglewood - all you have to do is type in POWDERCOATING + your zipcode into GOOGLE and it should kick back a few local shops...the price should be close - if not cheaper - everything costs more here in l.a.
Thanks for posting the pics, I've called a few places and prices have ranged from $75 to $150 per wheel! I just want to get my aluminum wheels powder coated clear. I have an extra set that I may consider using for winter and really like your black/aluminum look and may go with something similar, I didn't know you could mask powder coating.

YIKES!!!
$75-150 / WHEEL!!
keep looking - nothing in l.a. is less expensive - but heck - if thats the case - it might even be cheaper to ship 'em out here - which is crazy - but @ those prices (about 50-300% more expensive) why not?!...jeezuz!!!!!
