Ash Tray Spring
The spring that pushes the Ash Tray/Cup holder out on my 2000 expy popped off. It is not (to me) obvious how this goes back on, or if there was a clip that held it in place.
Does anybody have any ideas how this connects?

Mine came apart a few years ago after someone jammed something up into the cupholder. I pulled the whole thing apart and noted that a small piece on the spring retainer had broken. I don't recall exact fix, but whatever it was, it was very obvious and simple (even for someone as dense as I) and has worked for years.

It is actually a clip bent such that it acts like a spring. I don't recall the exact orientation (although pushing in lighty makes the tray want to spring back out, this should help in deciphering orientation). I drilled a small hole in my clip and screwed it to the backside of the tray and it has WORKED FLAWLESSLY ever since.
