Well just in General,
To get more of it you have to remove the problem AKA slippage and what causes it OR add to the system to handle it.
having more weight in the rear may just be removing some of the weight from the front of the truck to have a better Ratio. Say 40% front to 50% rear. Increase the Tread contact area to the ground...AKA Foot Print.
Change the gear ratio in the rear end.
Years ago I had a 6 cyl auto 4 door and the only way the tires would spin is if i painted the tires with oil..
I just changed the gear ratio so id get better launch. I've already lost all the weight from the front that I can think of losing. I just want it to hook up better. Would traction bars help anything on a truck? Thanks for the reply.
If you want traction out of your truck, you should do this.... 1: get 90-10 drag shocks for the front. These will help transfer the weight 2; go with either ladder bars and floaters for the leaf springs or convert to a coil over rear suspension,( approximately 200 lb springs) and move the battery and if possible, the gas tank (fuel cell)to the rear of the bed. The battery should be on the pasenger side. I got this info from a race suspension specialist here in Dallas. I am doimng the same build up with my 67 shortbox. Will have 500 hp 460. Should be a little fun!
