hedman vs. hooker longtubes
hedman vs. hooker longtubes
hey guys, im looking at a set of long tube headers for my 97 4x4 f350 with a 351W in it. im definatley getting ceramic coated, but right now im between brands for the reason that, if im spending this much money on something, i dont want it to rust out and fail under heavy use (mudding and offroading).
so im looking at hooker supercomps which at summit, cost $670 shipped. ive alwyas heard really good things about hooker headers, so i kinda trust the name.
im also looking at Hedman elite hedders, which at summit, cost $509 shipped. ive heard the name before, but i havent heard as many good things about them as i have heard about the hooker headers.
i know alot of people would jump at the cheaper ones, since theyre both ceramic coated and everything, but im worried about the quality of that coating. i feel like im going to get what i pay for so to speak. like if i pay less money, im getting less quality. does anyone have any testimonials between the 2 brands? i dont want to make the wrong choice based solely on price. can anyone help me out?

I have a set of Headman tubes on my 77 FireBird, they have been on there thru 2 engine rebuilds and about 100,000 miles and 12 yrs. No holes and have never once burnt thru. Would I buy them again you bet ya. Now for Hookers yep very good headers, I have run them on other vehichles with great results, just don't still have those vehichles to know how long or if the lasted. Just a suggestion but if nothing else be real sure to by high quailty header gaskets and header bolts.
