Removal of the sway bar is a common 4 wheelers trick to get more flex out of the springs. If you're after axle flex as in a very twisty situation it should help traction because it will allow the wheels to follow the contours of the road/trail better. If you're drag racing it probably won't do a thing. Removal of the traction bar certainly won't hurt anything, if you've been driving that rig for awhile you'll notice that there will probably be more body roll with it off. My 72, 73, 84, and 96 1/2 tons didn't have sway bars and I never saw any reason to put one on.
