just got my sway bar and husky liners today.not too sure about those liners though.much flimsier than i pictured.any way am going to try and install sway bar this wkend.any last minute thoughts on install.these directions are a joke.you'd think hellwig could afford a proof reader at least.thanks
Hints:
~ Pre-assemble as much as you can.
~ Install the bar so it is parallel to the ground.
~ You'll have to remove the emergency brake cable holder on the driver's side and use that hole for the link.
~ When installing new U-bolts, you may have to bend the brake line a tad to be able to slip the thicker U-bolt underneath. Go easy.
~ If the shocks extend all the way out when you remove the bracket, don't panic. Slowly re-compress them by hand.
~ Make a line on the shock mount and a corresponding one on the axle to ensure that when you re-install the mount it will be at the same angle as it was before.
~!Verify torque after a few miles and again after 300-500!
The axle has centering pins that mate with holes on the inside of the shock brackets. I did not have to mark the brackets. Getting everything lined back up was a chore though.
I put lock washers on all of the bolts. They are cheap insurance.
