Just making sure you did not decide to SELL your truck out of frustration over that coolant temp gauge! I have not seen him on in a while. Perhaps vacation!

Sorry, I'm still here. I've been working cattle the last few days with a family friend. I still have my big quarter size hole in the firewall and am running water in the rad for about 1 more week when I put the 50/50 mix I'll try the gauge again. My tranny fluid only has about 12K miles on it and looks realy fresh/good. When I put the tranny gauge can I try to catch what come out while putting the sensor in and refill it with what I catch?

Wink

It should leak only a little, so you dont have to add anything, unless you loose a lot of fluid. Install the sender quickly and thats it. OK?

Put a pan under the tranny, but I don't remember much coming out when the plug is removed. Someone that has done the tranny gauge recently tune me up if I am not remembering correctly.

I am not a big fan of catch and re-use unless it is a very unusal situation. Oil is is to cheap to risk crap falling off the bottom of the truck and into the pcaught oil. Each their own.

It is a very small amount of fluid. If you do it with the tranny cool, it almost oozes out of the port. Glad you are still around.

I agree do it cold and it will be thick so not much loss. And just add new and don't reuse.

Thanks, your's and other's knowledge here is my saving grace. Also, when I do the tranny gauge I'm going to put a new tranny cooler in. Can you refresh my memory on which one to get?

Thanks!
