Help.... I was driving home and a groan came from the front of the engine. i turned off the a.c and it quit making the noise.. I thought the a/c belt or serpentine was slipping so I turned it back on with the fan. I noticed a smoke coming from the vents and turned off the a/c . It smelled like it was burning... I kept it off until I got home about 4 miles. I opened the hood and noticed the smell around the a.c compressor. I also noticed some haze or dust around the compressor.. Could my compressor be bad or what would make the smoke come out of the dash vents? Any information would be appreciated..
