Give Jim at DIY a call. I heard he does miracles with wasted pumps. or you could go to your local junkyard and see if you could get a SD HPOP off a truck for cheap. Assuming the guy dosnt know what its worth

Can he modify our 15* to a 17* ? It doesn't seem hard.

Like I said, I dont know much about the guts of an HPOP. I dunno, call Jim at DIY and pitch it to him. Your gonna have to become explorative in your ways especially if your gonna go for big numbers. Every bit counts!

I have read several places that trying to rebuild them is usually not very sucessful. It may work for a bit, but in my opinion, I would just take the hit and replace it with a new one.

Interesting reading. Makes one think that if one could "master" the art of disassembly and reassembly of the HPOP there would be a market for the rebuild and/or upgrade. You would most definately have to have a machine shop to manufacture the new swash plate. Also makes me wonder if an 18* or 19* swash plate would be sufficient to support stage II's or III's with out the CEL shining in your face? Hmmm.

its already been and being done. I think swamp's had a 20*. and two other places keep saying they are coming out with "Medium oil".

I have had a pump apart. the swash plaste i think is part of the housing. I have only gone as far as to get the shaft out. I have been researching my own big oil twin pump set up!
